A Pilot of Fuel Saver Technology Shows Significant Cost Savings for One of the Largest Refrigerated Carriers

Founded in 1934, Tony’s Fine Foods has grown to be the largest privately owned distributor of refrigerated foods in the Western United States. 

They attribute this success to providing quality products and exceptional customer service, and their innovative approach to freight logistics. 

The Test

Through Autoventions’ controlled pilot testing program, Tony’s Fine Foods decided to test DieselMaxx fuel saver on one of their largest and most used trucks.

The truck was chosen because of the consistency of the data available. This particular truck runs the same route, normally has the same load weight and uses the same driver.

Since the test truck ran the exact same route every day with the same load and a regular driver, it was perfect for a pilot program. For a month the pilot truck transported the carrier’s  most valuable cargo - refrigerated deli, bakery, food service, and specialty items.

Then, the company reviewed fuel consumption for the 30-day period.

The fuel calculations showed a 6% increase in fuel savings. 

This savings translates to more than $4,200.00 annual savings for just this one vehicle.

With a fleet of just under 1,000 trailers, Tony’s Fine Foods is set to save millions of dollars with DieselMaxx and Autoventions.
